George Day Obituary

LEOMINSTER -- George H. Day, 69, of 109 Chestnut St., died Monday, Jan. 24, in Brigham & Womens Hospital, Boston after an illness.

He was born in Leominster on May 2, 1935, the son of George W. and Dorothy (Wood) Day and had lived here his entire life. He was a 1955 graduate of Leominster High School and played on the football team. He did postgraduate work in drafting at Leominster High Trade School.

Mr. Day was a self-employed painter for many years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of St. Leo’s Church and the Wilder Lodge of Masons, both in Leominster. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Mr. Day is survived by three sons, Christopher G. Day and his wife Linda Day of Lawndale, Calif., Gregory B. Day and his wife, Janice I. Day, of Leominster and Matthew D. Day and his wife, Pamela J. Day, also of Leominster; a sister, Elizabeth A. Day of Leominster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

DAY -- On Jan. 24, George H. Day, 69, of Leominster. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brigham & Women’s Hospital, 5th Floor, 116 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02116. The Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, is assisting the family with arrangements.
