George R. Hunt Fitchburg native, WWII vet; 93 CHARLOTTE, NC Mr. George R. Hunt, age 93, of Charlotte, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Thank you for a wonderful life! Born February 27, 1915, in Fitchburg, MA, he was a son of the late John and Rosilda Hunt. Mr. Hunt was the youngest son, in a family of twelve, all of whom have preceded him in death. He was a World War II veteran and participated in "The Battle of the Bulge" under General Omar Bradley. Survivors include his daughter, Gail Hunt Violette and son-in-law, Russell J. Violette of Mint Hill; three grandchildren and their spouses, Lynn and Walter Kreiling, Russell G. and Terri Violette and Joseph and Penny Violette; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Holly, Krystal, Russell H. Kyle, Courtney and Sydney. HUNT The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Catholic Church with The Reverend Francis J. O'Rourke, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
