Gerald Gendron Obituary

SHIRLEY

Gerald A. Gendron, 95, of Shirley, died Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his residence.

His wife of 69 years, Agnes D. (Martineau) Gendron, died in June 2015.

Mr. Gendron was born in Shirley, May 14, 1926, a son of Leo and Renee (Michaud) Gendron and was a lifelong Shirley resident. He attended Ayer High School. During WWII Mr. Gendron served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Shirley American Legion Post and the Franco American Vets in Leominster.

He also served his community as a member of the Shirley Fire Department. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Shirley and was a member of the Holy Name Society there.

For thirty years Mr. Gendron worked as machinist at Walbar Inc. located in Peabody and Stoneham, retiring in 1985. Mr. Gendron leaves four sons, Gerald A. Gendron Jr., Kenneth Gendron, Lynn Gendron and Michael Gendron all of Shirley; two daughters, June Hebert Defelice and Patricia Sargent both of Shirley; a brother, Rene Gendron of Leominster; a sister; Estelle Comeau of Florida. He also leaves seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was the brother of the late Leon Gendron of Florida, Adrien Gendron and Florida May both of Shirley, Gabriele Williams of New Hampshire and Ernest Gendron of Washington.

Mr. Gendron's family will receive family and friends at calling hours 4-7 Monday, February 14, 2022 at Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road (Rte 2A) Ayer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
