CENTERVILLE, Massachusetts -- Helen E. (Anttila) Suchadowlski-Ackley, 84, of Centerville, formerly of Fitchburg, died Friday, December 9, 2011, at Cape Cod Community Hospital, Hyannis.

Her husband of 30 years, Frederick G. Ackley died in 2009.

Mrs. Ackley was born in Fitchburg, September 12, 1927, a daughter of Matti and Fannie M. (Malk) Anttila, and resided much of her life in Fitchburg before moving to Cape Cod 20 years ago. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and Fitchburg State College.

Mrs. Ackley worked many years as a kindergarten teacher in the Fitchburg, Templeton, Hadley, and Springfield school systems. Following her retirement from teaching, she worked in real estate, and as a receptionist in the chiropractic office of Dr. Loyal Allen.

She had attended the Faith United Church in Fitchburg.

She is survived by her son, Stanley Suchadowlski of Orleans; and a brother, John Anttila of Fitchburg.

She was the sister of the late Sirkka Anttila-Kao of Fitchburg.

ACKLEY -- A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte. 119), Townsend Center. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information. A calling hour will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Fitchburg.
