Mr. Barnes was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on April 2, 1962, a son of the late Hubert E. Barnes Jr., and lived in Lunenburg since 1970. He graduated from Lunenburg High School and Vermont Academy. He then attended Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.
Mr. Barnes was a cook at several local restaurants throughout Northern Worcester County. He was a science-fiction movie buff and enjoyed jazz music.
He leaves his mother, Loretta L. Warren-Barnes, of Lunenburg; a son, Matthew C. Barnes of Lunenburg, a brother, Kurt A. Barnes of Lunenburg and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
BARNES -- On Sept. 9, Hubert E. “Kevin” Barnes III, of Lunenburg. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. I'm sorry to see Hubie gone. He was definitely always smiling and happy. He was one of those people that left you smiling as well after you saw him. Condolences to the family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Hubie's passing. He was truly a special guy, full of life and always smiling and laughing. He will be missed. Heaven has gained a comedian!

Kevin was always smiling and happy. I remember him from our High school football team. I didnt know him very well personally, but every single time I ever saw him, there was a big smile on his face, thats how I will always remember him. My thoughts and prayers will be with you, his family.
