John was born in Leominster MA. on June 14, 1961 the son of Celestino and Viola (Chiarelli) Cosimi, and was a lifelong Leominster resident. He leaves his mother Viola Cosimi of Leominster, his brother Bary J. Cosimi and his wife Sheilah of Leominster, his sister Karen Bruwer of Leominster, his nephews and niece, Peter Bruwer, Patricia Rumson, and Brian Cosimi, and his great- nieces and great- nephew, Angela Rumson, Michael Rumson, and Kailynn Bruwer.
Together with his brother he owned and operated Pipes Plus Inc. in Leominster.
