I worked with Jack for a short period in 1979 at New England Nuclear in Billerica Ma. I was 21 and he changed my life by introducing me to Jazz. I went to the Newport festival with Jack, his wife and John Padilla, a friend of his from San Francisco. Later that year I moved to the Bay Area, lived at John´s house in Daly City and worked as a bike messenger for Redmon Delivery Co. Jack had worked for Redmon previously and called Dennis Redmon on my behalf. That move changed my life´s trajectory. I only knew Jack for a short time but his influence was immense for me. R.I.P. my friend.

We are loosing too many of these exceptional musicians. His sister in law worked for my father for many years. I never had the pleasure of giging with him but I watched him play many times. Awesome. His second career is indicative of his high intellegence. Very sad.

So Sorry to lose a good friend like Jack. I met Jack when we both worked at DuPont Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE. As a contractor, I was an outsider, but not to Jack. We used to go dancing at place on Concord Pike, near PA line. I also went to many of his trio concerts in the region. I remember he had a nice spacious house. Being born and raised in Pittsfield, MA, I shall miss his New England wit.

Bill, so sorry to hear that Jack lost his battle. He was a family friend from way back. He was a great friend to many and an awesome musician and will be missed by so many people. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. May he rest in peace.
