Julia Lanza Obituary

Julia Grace Lanza
of Leominster; 45

LEOMINSTER -- Julia Grace Lanza, 45 years old, of Leominster, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in UMass Memorial University Campus, after suffering a stroke on Friday.

She was born January 14,1969 in Leominster, the daughter of the (late) Richard J. Lanza and Judith G.(Duncklee) Lanza, and was a lifelong resident.

She leaves her mother, Judith G. Lanza of Leominster; her two brothers, Anthony Lanza and his companion Helen of Fitzwilliam New Hampshire, John Lanza and his wife, Jan of Needham; her two sisters, Anne Sowerbutts and her husband, Don of Leominster, and Maria Litalien and her husband, David of Leominster; her seven nephews and nieces, Sandy, James, Theresa, Nicole, Allison, Matthew and Elizabeth, adopted niece Stephanie; and many great nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Julia was a 1987 graduate of Leominster High School, a 1989 graduate of Mount Wachusett Community College, and a 1997 graduate of Emmanuel College. She was employed as a Contract Specialist for the US Government working at the Natick Labs and Fort Devens. She was a member of St. Anna's Church in Leominster, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, taught CCD classes, sang in the choir, and was the cheerleading coach for St Annas School. Julia was a member of the St Annas Society where she volunteered at fish suppers and decorating for the holidays; her faith was undeniable. She enjoyed making jewelry, vacationing with her mom and niece Theresa, and could shop till you drop. She loved Disney, Disney princesses, NASCAR-especially Dale Earnhardt Jr, and was all about the"Bling". Julia always had a smile on her face and would light up any room as soon as she entered it. She was a very generous and giving person and could be relied upon to help anyone. Julia loved her family but was especially fond of her nieces and nephews and would do anything for them, including road trips all over creation, sharing Disney toasting glasses, cake testing, special first time trips to the "Indians" and many more memories; her family was her world. Everyone will miss her kielbasa and bacon, but mostly they will miss her loving embrace, her vivacious and warm personality. Julia was loved by all and will be missed by everyone, especially her family. Heaven has gained an angel.

LANZA -- Julia's funeral will be held on Thurs., July 31, 2014 from the Silas F. To Julia's family and friends: I just learned that Julia died suddenly and I am stunned. I only met her once but we spoke once a month over the last year. She was gentle and sweet and appreciative and while things came up in her life that were potentially upsetting, she never let it affect her demeanor; she stayed gentle and sweet. I am very sorry for your loss but I know that she will be happy with the life that the Almighty God has in store for her. My sincere condolences to all, Annette Evans Freeport Maine

I met Julia through Angela Cahill (Corey) at Angela's bridal shower in Boston. Spent a night with her and she was a gret person. I'm glad I met her even if it was only for one night. RIP Julia until we meet again.

My thoughts and prayers to Julia's family and friends. Although I did not know Julia personally or by acquantance, I came across her obit and felt the need to post my deepest sympathy. I am just a few years older than Julia and I sincerely believe if our paths would have crossed, she would have been a wonderful lifelong friend that I would have liked to have.

Sleep with the angels Julia, perhaps our paths will cross in heaven.
