Kenneth Burchstead Obituary

Kenneth E. Burchstead
of Leominster; 74

LEOMINSTER -- Kenneth E. Burchstead, 74, of Leominster, passed away July 3, in Leominster Hospital after an illness.

Kenneth was born in Leominster on April 17, 1943, a son of the late Elton and Lila (Wood) Burchstead. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1961, where he played in the band. Until his retirement, Kenneth worked as the lead maintenance for the Norton Turbine Company.

Kenneth recently celebrated his 50th year as a Mason, belonging to the Wilder Lodge in Leominster. Kenneth was also an active member of the Midstate Antique Auto Club, the NRA, and the National Corvette Museum; he always enjoyed his yearly trips to Carlisle, PA for the car show. He enjoyed working in his yard, and loved his two Shelties, Tootsie and Sarah.

He leaves his children, Daniel Benoit of FL, Paul Benoit of Littleton, Sherry Gonynor of Leominster, and Gloria Wilkey of Leominster; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Kenneth is also survived by his sister Corinne Ryll of ME.

Kenneth was predeceased by his wife Mary (McGinnis) Burchstead and his brother Karl Burchstead.

BURCHSTEAD -- Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, July 7, from 9-11am. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

I bought my red Corvette convertible from Kenny and Mary many years ago and I still have it. They stored it for me during the winters when we lived in MA and my wife Susan and I became great friends. Now we are in Florida and still drive that car to the beach. Every time I look at that car I think of Kenny and Mary. Kenny was the kindest, most caring person anyone could ever be. Miss you, Tim and Susan.

We will miss you "our friend". The fun times we shared with you and Mary. House parties, family weddings, weddings including ours with you as a groomsmen, weekly pizza night at Papa Gino's with the group. All these memories will be cherished and kept in our hearts forever.

Wish we could be there to attend the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love,
Fran and Jane
