Margaret Pancare

Fitchburg

Margaret Stanley Pancare, of Fitchburg and Leominster MA, passed away peacefully at 97 years old. Margaret was one of nine born to a large Irish family in Fitchburg, MA and attended St. Bernard's High School. She was married to Leonard Pancare for 47 years until his death in 2004. After her marriage, Margaret moved to Leominster where she raised four children. She is survived and will be missed by her family: Monica Pancare of Belmont; Lissa McKinney of Concord, and grandchildren Christopher and Isabella McKinney (sadly, Margaret was predeceased by her beloved son-in-law, Christopher McKinney, earlier this year); Kristine McManus of Westwood, her husband Anthony McManus, and grandchildren Cara and Jack McManus; and Peter Pancare of Mansfield, his wife Rachel Pancare, and grandchildren Gianni, Lucca and Mariella Pancare. Margaret is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Buckley of Leominster, and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. Margaret's greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she spent as much time as possible with them, spoiling them with little presents, home-made cookies and ginger ale floats.

Margaret was a comforting shoulder for her many nieces and nephews. She was always cooking for someone, and her famous sauce and meatballs was a favorite gift to receive. Margaret loved cheering on the Red Sox and the Patriots, spending time on the Cape with her sisters and friends, swimming in the ocean, playing card games and Bingo. She always wanted to make things better and was active in local politics. She volunteered for the Leominster Hospital Guild for many years and later served as President. She was active in all aspects of St. Anthony's Parish, from fairs and feasts to anniversary celebrations, and she worked on numerous committees. In 2018, Margaret attended her 75th high school class reunion, which was a very special memory for her. She will be missed by all who knew her, and she goes to join many loved ones waiting for her.

Pancare

The funeral Mass will be held in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, Fitchburg on Saturday, December 4 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernards Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marybeth Brow Nursing Scholarship Fund, in honor of Margaret's beloved niece, Marybeth, who was always there when someone was sick and passed from cancer in 2019.
