Michael Allain Obituary
LEOMINSTER -- Michael Robert Allain, age 46, died unexpectedly in Leominster on Monday, September 19, 2011.
Michael was born on April 22, 1965 in Leominster, MA. He graduated with honors from Leominster High Trade School in 1983. He enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for twenty years. He worked as a machinist for several years. In his mid-thirties he returned to school, where he obtained his Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology, and was continuing his education in pursuit of his Doctorate Degree.
Michael took great pride and pleasure in working with his clients at 'The Bridge' in Worcester. Most recently, he was working in the greater Springfield area as a mental health clinician, serving a diverse population of clients.
Michael was a committed family man. He treated with kindness and respect all those he came in contact with, which made him a great friend to all. His dedication to aiding his fellow man, led to his serving many times with Habitat for Humanity Appalachia Service Project in the Dominican Republic building a hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife and son, Kim (Stetson) Allain and Isaac Michael. He is also survived by his father Leonard Allain of Leominster, his mother Yvette and her husband Raymond Bastarache of Townsend, his sister Angela DeFeo and her husband Carmine, and their children Zachary and Alexi of Sarasota, Fl. In addition, he leaves his maternal grandmother Anita Babineau of Moncton, New Brunswick, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, with whom he enjoyed spending time during summer in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada. He also had close relationships with his numerous nieces and nephew who lived locally in Leominster.
ALLAIN -- Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 2-4 and 5-7 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Isaac Michael Allain Education Fund at the Digital Federal Credit Union, 1123 Central Street, Leominster, MA 01453. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net

Michael's passing reminds me of the adage: be kind to those one meets; for one can scarcely know what struggles and hurts she or he may be facing. Imagine if we all embraced such insight? The spread of loneliness that plagues us would recede swiftly as the gray of dawn; and leave a land awash in tenderness and fellowship. Michael inspired such thoughts.

Although we never met, Michael, your obituary reveals your family and the region lost a very decent, compassionate man with your passing. Alas, sometimes the most giving seem to leave far too soon. One can only pray your family, here and in New Brunswick, Canada, continue to remember your strength and caring and love of family. You shall be greatly missed, for sure.

Mike will always be remembered by me as a caring, friendly, enthusiastic friend. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family. I have trust he is in a better place and is and will always remain with us in some way. He emulated good things, love, and an ability to convey his sincere interest and love in others.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son Michael. It is not natural for your children to go before you. I Know! I lost my Michael as well. Just remember that he is with God Now and in a much better place. We do not know the reasons but God does. Jesus is with you to comfort your heart and mind Hon. He is there with you.
