Michael Conner Obituary

Michael Henry Conner, 58, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky. Born December 14th, 1962 in Groton, Massachusetts was called home June 21, 2021. He is survived by his loving Wife Christine Conner, Parents Henry & Ruth Conner, Brothers/Sister—In-Laws David & Pam Conner, Tom & Darlene Conner, Tim & Candie Conner, and Chris & Michelle Conner, Nieces/Nephews Ryan Conner, Allison Conner, Corey Conner, Lauren Conner, Riley Conner, Dylan Conner and Jarret Conner.

After High School graduation, he enrolled in the United States Air Force and was trained as a Jet Mechanic, there he worked on McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom II, the Wild Weasel, and the Lockheed SR71 Black Bird.

After leaving the Air force with an Honorable Discharge he went back to school and got certified in Heating, Air conditioning and Refrigeration. He worked in the heating and AC field for a few years and then opened a sports-outfitters store in Townsend, Mass. His passion was hunting and fishing, so the Squanacook Outfitters store was a perfect fit for work and pleasure. He started taking customers out on the river and teaching them how to fly fish. He found that he really liked that part of his business, taking clients out on the river and being out in the woods. After 7 years running the store he realized he wanted to pursue one of his dreams of being a hunting guide in The Rocky Mountains. He chose a hunting guide school in Darby, Montana . He drove across the country from Massachusetts to Montana and completed the guide schools hands on courses. There he learned how to ride horses, pack mules, set up camps and learn the terrane in Montana and Idaho in order to find game for clients deep in the forests of The Rocky Mountains. He did so well that the owner of the guide school asked him if he would stay on board to be a guide school teacher and work as a guide during the hunting seasons. He stayed on board and worked there for 12 years.

Mike met Christine during his time working as a hunting guide. She also loved the outdoors, horses and animals . Together they decided to pursue a career in ranch management. They got a job in New Mexico where they became head ranch managers of a 10,000 acre property which had cattle, deer and yak. After some time in New Mexico they moved back to Montana to work on another 30,000 acre ranch located on the edge of Yellowstone Park. Eventually they decided that they wanted a change and moved to Montgomery County Kentucky. There he got a job at Danimer Scientific as a Machine Technician.

Mike really enjoyed his ranch in Jeffersonville, Kentucky with his horses, mule, cats, cockatoo, and his dogs Zipper and Mick. Mike was a great Husband, Son, Brother and Uncle. Once you got to know Mike you couldn't help but love him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends both four and two legged.

A celebration of life will be happening in his home town of Townsend, Massachusetts.
