Rhea Dantini Obituary
LEOMINSTER -- Rhea M. (Cormier) Dantini, 64, a longtime Fitchburg-Leominster resident, died Friday, Sept. 14, in Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her husband of 48 years, Michael P. Dantini; two daughters, Stephanie Gallant and her husband, Rick, of Leominster, and Sherry Goss and her husband, Jeffrey, of Fitchburg; three brothers, Claude Cormier of Leominster, Al Cormier of Holliston, MA, and Vic Cormier of Lancaster, MA; four sisters, Marie Lystila of Fitchburg, Jan Pelote of Lancaster, MA, Rhona Fournier of Westminster, and Gloria Cormier of Keene, NH; three grandchildren, Sydnee and Dylan Gallant and Emilee Goss; her mother-in-law, Mary A. (DiGregorio) Dantini of Fitchburg; many nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Rosie.
Mrs. Dantini was a Manager at the former Prime Value Mart in Fitchburg for many years and after their closing she was employed by Mart Transit as a receptionist and later for the Fitchburg Public School System, retiring in 2010.
She was a longtime member of St. Anthony di Padua Parish in Fitchburg. She was a 1965 graduate of Fitchburg High School and attended Mt. Wachusett Community College.
Rhea loved going to the beach, reading a good book, and being with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She will be remembered as an exceptional person, and as a kind and thoughtful friend to many and loved by all who knew her.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on December 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Rheal and Yolande (Landry) Cormier, and came to the area in 1957.
DANTINI -- Her Funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 87 Salem St., Fitchburg. Burial will be private. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Monday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital, 333 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115 or may be left at the Funeral Home. I will always remember Rhea's "true smile" and her helpful personality. She was such a sweet spirit. She exhuded strength and conviction. I didn't know Sherry or Mike well, but Stephanie is such a wonderful person and Roger & I are so sorry for your loss. We all only have a temporary Parent. Some longer than others, but knowing we WILL see them again is such a consolation. Stephanie's words at the funeral were so uplifting showing us Rhea's fine qualities and love she had for all. It was her "homegoing" celebration, and now she is "safely home".She'll never be further away from you or your heart. God Bless you all at this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rhea's passing. I have nothing but good memories of her from when we were kids, she was always so sweet and kind to me. Even as a little girl I could see that she had something so special about her and I wanted to emulate that. My love, prayers and condolences to you Stephanie, Sherry and Mike. Her smile, bright twinkles in her eyes,head tilted, shoulders up...Rhea..a woman with a warmth that exuded from the depth of her soul.
