Rita I. Morrison

Rita I. Morrison of Townsend, active at St. John's Church; 91 TOWNSEND Rita I. (LaFortune) Morrison, 91, formerly of 53 West Elm Street, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Fitchburg. She was the wife of the late Floyd E. Morrison Sr. who died in 1986. Mrs. Morrison was born in Fitchburg, March 3, 1917, a daughter of Henry and Olive (LeDuc) LaFortune, and has resided in Townsend for nearly 50 years. From 1999 - 2006, she resided at the Sundial Apartments in Fitchburg. She was a daily communicant and active member of St. John's Church in Townsend, and a member of the Townsend Senior Citizens. She is survived by a son, Floyd E. Morrison Jr. of Ashburnham; two daughters, June Morrison of Stoneham, Ellen Morrison of Leominster, a sister, Marguerite Bourget of Shrewsbury. She also leaves two grandchildren, Floyd E. Morrison III, Amy Sutherland; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Sutherland, Gracie Sutherland, and Brendan F. Morrison. She was the sister of the late Norbert LaFortune and Richard LaFortune, both of Fitchburg. Mrs. Morrison worked as a secretary at the Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg. Many years ago, she and her husband owned and operated the Golden Rule Poultry Farm in West Townsend. MORRISON A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 A.M., Friday, June 6th at St. John's Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Townsend.
