of Fitchburg; 40
FITCHBURG -- Steven R. "Steve" Kaanta, 40, of Fitchburg died September 8, 2013 after an illness.
Steve was born in Fitchburg on November 21, 1972, a son of the late Jeffrey Kaanta and Donna (Arslanian) Boyd. He owned and operated Advanced Painting in Fitchburg. Steve was a true family man, who loved fishing and camping. He was also an avid football fan, especially the Patriots.
He leaves his mother, Donna Boyd and husband William of Fitchburg; companion, Tina Montville of Fitchburg; children, Katie Kaanta, Steven Kaanta, Jr., Michael Kaanta, Tiffany Montville and companion Josh Munoz, and Lacey Kaanta all of Fitchburg; siblings, Melissa Kaanta and companion Fred Emery, Kelly Kaanta, Jason Kaanta, and Al Robichaud all of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Isabelle Munoz and Joshua Munoz, Jr. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
KAANTA -- The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday, September 13, from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Steven R. Kaanta's Children's Fund, TD Bank 367 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.

My heart goes out to Steve's family. I have know them all my life and Steve was always willing to give the shirt off his back to those who needed it. My first babysitting job 4 kids what was I thinking but they where all good kids Steven was the little man and helped me with everything showed me where everything was that they all needed. watched him grow to a wonderful and giving man loved to see him and his very big smile when he seen me open arms and a kiss.
