Vera Pallotta Obituary

Vera I. Pallotta
Loving mother, grandmother, sister; 98

LEOMINSTER -- Vera I. (Marchetti) Pallotta, 98, of Leominster, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at UMass Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her three children, Janis A. Gelinas and her husband, Charles, of Leominster, James R. Pallotta and his wife, Jane, of Leominster and Ralph I. "Rip" Pallotta and his wife, Melanie, of Fitchburg; her sister, Alma Santoro of Medford; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Ralph J. Pallotta, in 1989.

Vera was born on September 5, 1916 in Boston. She graduated from Medford High School and worked at Harvard University for many years. Vera met her husband Ralph and waited five years for his safe homecoming from WWII before they married in 1946. Vera and Ralph moved to Leominster in 1954 and spent the next 35 years working side by side running his businesses.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than life itself. Vera was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and always had a smile on her face. She exuded vitality and her optimism was one of the most important traits she bestowed on her family and those around her. She is already greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

PALLOTTA -- The funeral will be held Friday, October 17 from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster St. Calling hours are Friday from 9-10:30 a.m. Burial is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montachusett Home Care, 680 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
