Sherry - First, my heartfelt condolences. I don’t know if you will remember me, but we met shortly after you and Bill were married, maybe the early 1970’s, when I visited your home. I first met Bill when we moved to Topsfield from Danvers in May of 1959 and into a house across the street from Bill, Cindy and Chuck and Bonnie, their beloved collie (I can still visualize her coming across the street for our leftover steak). Although a year younger than Bill, he became my best friend until they moved to Kennebunkport. I can recall riding bikes, playing marbles, fishing in the woods along Pye Brook, catching frogs behind my house and even playing jump rope with Cindy. We stayed in touch for a while and he even tried to teach me to surf once in the “warm” Maine surf, such as it was. I still have many fond memories of those carefree days and think about them and Bill often. I am saddened by your family’s loss as Bill was a wonderful friend to a ‘newcomer’ to his neighborhood. I know he’s in a better place and I know I will still keep him in my memories.

Sherry,
I was so sad to hear about the passing of Bill. He fought for so long and you were always by his side. Take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.

Sherry, I am so sad to hear about Bill. He suffered for a long time, but you were always at his side. I remember the incredible scrimshaw work that he did and those who have some of his work will treasure it forever. Please know that you and your family are in our hearts and prayers. Stay strong.
