James Paros Obituary

James "Reggie" Paros, a native Conch and lifelong resident of the Florida Keys, passed peacefully at his home in Nokomis, Florida on August 7, 2025. Born September 19, 1950 to Louise and James Paros in Key West, Reggie devoted his life to his family and his community. He was among the first paramedics certified in Florida, the former Public Safety Director of Monroe County, and manager of the Florida Keys Marathon Airport. "Dad", "Husband", and "Grandpa" were Reggie's favorite roles, and he could always be found coaching with the Marathon Youth Club, at local Scouting events, and cheering on his kids at Marathon High School sports and theater productions. Reggie was also a talented musician and loved playing his guitar and singing with his friends in their bands REACH and L'Attitude Adjustment, and at New Life Church in Marathon. His kindness, generosity, and spirit will continue to live on through his beloved wife Kellye, his sister Katherine, his children Ashley, Ryan, and Reggie, and his grandson, Oliver.
