Brenda, Gary and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Edna was a fine woman in countless ways. I'll always remember her telling stories of her and her family's earliest years in Florida on Merritt Island before there were bridges to Cocoa and there were mosquitos as big as your hand. Edna was very intelligent, creative, and a stickler for details. I know that Brenda and Gary inherited those traits. Personally, I'll miss those sparkling blue eyes, that girlish grin and giggle, and that beautiful white hair! Peace be with you all.
Respectfully,
Sandy Pirrera

I always enjoyed Aunt Ed working at Saturn when I was a child and now that my children attend Saturn, I find myself thinking of her when I walk through the courtyard and by the "school store". I find peace in knowing that my Mamaw, your sister, was waiting at the gates of Heaven for you when you entered. May God be with your family.

If this is the Edna Painter that worked at Saturn Elementary for so many years - then I need to sign this book. Mrs. Painter made my elementary years! She was always full of joy and always had a smile for the children. I think of her often - especially now that I am a teacher. I remember her retirement (first) celebration at Saturn. She was such a humble soul. Next thing you know, she was volunteering at the school. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that she will be dearly missed.
