John Sovich Obituary

John M. Sovich entered the Lords Domain on June 25, 2013 at home after battling leukemia for over two years at the age of 74. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, the 26th day of July 1938 to Steve, Sr. and Theresa Sovich.

John was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Steve, Jr., George P., and Michael. He is survived by his life partner of 29 years, Daniel E. Oslowski; daughter, Meredith; two grandchildren, Kayla and Dominick of Mayfield Heights, OH; nephew, G. Troy Sovich of Clearwater, FL; nieces, Kelly Ann Davis of Parma Heights, OH, Dawn Bolt-Ben, Terese Cheraso-Frank; great-nieces, Lily, Lucy and Adrianna of Wickliffe, OH; and great-nephew, Gavin of Madison, OH.

John moved to Six Mile Creek, Viera, Florida in 1997 and built his retirement home. He became very active with the HOA serving as president, holding many positions on the board of directors and a volunteer on various committees. John loved to travel and wanted to see the entire world and he saw a great part of it. He enjoyed poker, gardening and was a polka fanatic.

Remembering john is to know his emphasis on detail, his active support, and his devotion to family, friends, and neighbors. He was there for everyone, extended family and all.

A mass of the resurrection will be held at 10:00am, Friday, July 19, 2013 in the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Viera, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Daniel and family,
I am so sad for your loss. I had not seen Johnny for many years but will always remember family times together when we were younger. I don't think I will ever be able to see an accordion or hear a polka without remembering Uncle Steve, Teta (Secca) Theresa and the guys. To this day I have never had an apple pie that tasted better than hers. I guess now both her and Uncle Steve are together again with all their boys.
I really appreciated John sending me bits of information I could use for our family tree.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Cousin, Linda
