Our condolences to Dorie, John and Heidi, the Calabrese family, and Frankie’s staff on this loss. We had the pleasure of knowing Joe for over 15 years. Joe always made us feel welcome during our visits to the restaurant. We will miss the times he would come out of the office to chat, tell us stories, and update us on the latest events in his life and of the restaurant. We will miss Joe immensely. May God bless.

Dearest John and Michael, your dad will always have a place in our family’s memory. It brings a smile remembering Joe in the late 1960’s driving his “Super Bee” car and listening to him sing “Bad Trip” the song from his band, the Derelicts, which played on our jute box.

I didn´thave the pleasure to meet you, Joe, but I am very thankful for all you have done for the Silver Cat Fancy. Surely, your kindness and devotion for the human people, as well for the our dearest cats, allowed you to be with them now, happy, and together with our God. My deepest sympathy for the whole family.

Oh Joe, what are we suspossed to do without you. You were our boss and our friend. You were always there when we needed shifts or if we just needed someone to talk to.
I'm gunna miss your smile when I would make dumb jokes in the office or pick my nose, bringing you your last coffee of the night (no matter how much I complained about doing it), and closing the hostess stand up front with you.
Things will never be the same without you but we'll never forget how good you were to us.
At Frankie's we would never say goodbye, we would always say "see ya tomorrow night", so Joe, I guess I'll be seeing you, rest in peace.
We love and miss you terribly.

My deepest condolences go to Dorie and Joe's family. I knew Joe for many years, first introduced to him by my mother, Leta, who knew I'd adore him as she did. When she passed in 2001, he was one of the first ones to be on the scene, along with his famous food spread. I will miss him with all of my heart. Calabreses should be proud. Joe touched many in his short life.
