JUNE G. MESSNER MERRITT ISLAND June G. Messner, 76, stepped into eternity Satur day, February 17, 2007 from the home of her daughter in Lancaster, PA, with family at bedside. Born June 30, 1930 in Altoo na, PA, a daughter of James and Catherine (Batrus) Betar, June was a former member of Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church, Altoona. Graduated from Altoona Area High School, took classes at the Penn State Campus in Altoona, June filled her life enjoying ice skating, piano, Broadway shows, sketching, painting, studying the Amish culture, was an avid scrabble player and reader, the ocean and raising her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John C. Grace; her second husband, John Curtis Messner; and two brothers, John and Robert Betar of Altoona. June is survived by her daughter, Bonnie C. Miller of Lancaster; four sons, Blas, husband of Rebecca Grace of Altoona, Bruce Grace of Lan caster, Perry Messner of Lap eer, MI, Corky Messner of Denver, CO; seven grandchil dren; Damian Grace of Las Vegas, NV, Allison, wife of Mark Ritchey of Altoona, Jennifer, wife of Nicholas Medel of Flat Rock, MI, Jonathan of Calera, AL, Kaley Wolfe of Denver, CO, Max and Thomas also of Den ver, CO; and three great grand children; Ryan, Elizabeth, and Nicholas; her siblings: sister, Shirley Miller and her husband Paul of Altoona; brothers, Wal ter Herky Betar and his wife, Darlene of Altoona, Donald Betar and his wife, Patty of Hollidaysburg, PA, and Richard Betar and his wife, Greta of Merritt Island, FL. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Junes life by attending a service in her memory at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 5555 N. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, FL with the Rev. Peter Roberts officiating on Sat urday, March 24, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel or a service in her memory at Broad First Presby terian Church, Broad Avenue and 24th Streets, Altoona, PA with the Rev. Carol La Blanc off iciating on Saturday, March 31st, 2007 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be sent to a Hospice of Charity of your favor in Memory of June.
