Samuel Mize Obituary

SAMUEL MIZE, Jr. PALM BAY Samuel Franklin Mize Jr. , age 81, of Palm Bay, died at his residence Tuesday December 12, 2006, with his wife and chil dren by his side. He moved to Nitro WV in 1987 to care for Bettys Dad for five years, then started their own care home, for 12 years. Moved back to Palm Bay, FL in 2000 after being told he had cancer to be near their children. Prior to his retirement he was a machinist at Imperial Machines in Norton, OH; and at Shelly Manufacturing in Miami, FL. He also worked at Harbor City Office Supply and Office Mart as a Delivery Driver and was employed by the City of Palm Bay Sanitation Dept. as a driver. He also worked at Laffertys Egg Farm and at F.I.T. in maintenance. Mr. Mize was a Veteran of World War II and served with hon ors with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W., D.A.V, Parents With out Partners and the Bowling Team in Nitro, W.V. Mr. Mize was married to Hazel Harmon for over 20 years. He met his wife, Betty, on April 16, 1977 and Married December 10, 1987 and had 29 wonderful years together. Members of his family include his wife, Betty Mize of Palm Bay; sons, Frank Mize (Kendra), Jeffrey Mize (Susan), and Rod Mize (Lorene), all of Palm Bay, Stanley Simpkins (Dawn) Panhandle, FL, Sailor Simpkins, Paris, TN, Lewis Simpkins, (Debra) and Austin Simpkins, both of Palm Bay; daughters, Belle Troyer (Eli) Apple Creek, OH. Denise McAllister, Palm Bay, Tina Mize, Melbourne, , Celine McCallister (Leigh), Palm Bay, Margie McDoungh (Allyn), Springfield, MO and Betty Orji (Ali), Orlando FL.; 45 grand children; 43 great-grandchil dren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held from 1to 3 p.m., Saturday December 16, 2006 at Foun tainhead Memorial Funeral Home, Palm Bay, with a Funeral Service to follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel, with the Rev. Denzil Alexander officiat ing. Interment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park, with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army. Special Thanks to Vitas Hospice for all their love and care, and to V.A. Clinic to all the Doctors and nurses and to everybody that has had a part in helping. May God bless all of you.
