I knew Sherri as a little girl in Alaska when her mother and father where stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, US ARMY. She was such a cute little girl with a winning smile and a sparkle in her eye. I know she will be missed by those who loved her. I send condolences to Adam and Sandy and family.

Memorial Tribute to Sherri Lynn Runk
February 25, 1963 – June 18, 2008
My sister Sherri, what can I say? I was the oldest and she was the youngest, affectionately called “the brat”. There will be no more phone calls asking “what’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert?” we used to call daily and ask that. It was a game between her, my husband, George and me.
The week before she passed I had stopped at a tea shop and saw a plaque that read “I am smiling because you are my Sister but I am laughing because there is nothing you can do about it!” Well she did something about it; she went to heaven before me. She is now whole and complete, no more pain physically, mentally, or emotionally. She has a new body and is walking on streets paved in gold. Now she can ask God all those questions that she did not understand when she was here on earth.
She is now one of his angels watching over us. We have found pennies at unexpected places and times and I have to believe that she is trying to let us know that she is at peace and home at last and that she will be waiting for each of us for that reunion in the sky when it is our turn to join her. She would not want us to be sad but she would want us to rejoice that we had the pleasure of knowing her and being her daughter, son, father, mother, sister, brother, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin or friend.
Please know that she held a special place in each of our hearts and that will never change. Always remember she loved each of us the best she could.

My mom, what can I say about her?She was a very cheerful woman that was always happy to be around people, even if she didn't know them. Some people say,"They will be missed greatly" and don't mean it but this time it is meant to be as possible. She will be missed but anyone that has touched her life.

My mom was the best mom, not perfect, but the best. We were more like sisters than mother and daughter and I miss her so much. After her passing I struggled with why God would take her from us now, at such a young age of 45, with two young children, and two very young grandchildren? But after weeks of trying to let my mind do all the reasoning, I let my faith step in, and I know God has a plan. To be honest, if I were God I'd want to be closer to her too! She loved me and my brother with all of her heart, and my two children were her life..."nana's boys". It's hard not being able to hear her beautiful voice or feel her warm hugs, but I know she sends her love down to us daily, and for that I'm grateful. There's no one that will or can EVER replace her spot in my heart. I am so happy that I was blessed to have her as my mom. And though she is not her physically, she WILL live on forever through everyone she was able to touch in her lifetime.
With Eternal Love,
Kasey

I was told that a sign from a loved one who had passed on was when dragonflys and butterflys start showing up unexpectedly. The last couple of days I have seen so many dragonflys in my neighborhood that I feel as if my sister is saying "hi and that she is fine". I miss you Sissy. I miss our outings, our phone calls and all the little things we use to say to one another. I am still the "bestess daughter" and you are still the "spoiled rotten one" but you will remain in my heart and on my mind always. There are so many little things that I see and hear and I can picture you right there beside me laughing and smiling over some silly thing we just did or saw. Love and miss you so very much. Your loving big sister.

I am so very sorry to hear of Sherri's passing, and so young. We were stationed at Ft Wainwright, AK with Adam and Sandy, in the early 1970's, so I remember Sherri as an active, cute 9 or 10 year old, and always smiling. I can only imagine how she will be missed.
With condolences and prayers.

My Aunt Sherri, I miss her so much but I missed her even before she was gone. When I was younger we spent lots of time together and I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to be so close to her. I have missed her ever since she moved away from Texas.

Please feel free to view the photo album. I added a few pictures of Sherri that I think all of you would enjoy. I truly miss my Sissy and I picture her up in heaven throwing pennies at us and saying "darn it I missed again" because we keep finding pennies in the most unusual of places.

I got to know Sherri because of my friendship with her sister Michelle. We all had some great times together, shopping at the mall, etc. She and Michelle treated me as if I was another sister to them-even called me Sissy.I will miss her, but I am glad that she is at peace with Jesus.

Sherri and I were great friends for 30 years. We kept in touch over the years even when separated by great distances. I was so honored when she asked me to be her daughter's godmother. When she and her daughter and son moved back to Florida, I was so happy that we would be able to spend time together. We were friends and moms then and I got to know and love her children, too. The memories of those times are more precious than ever now that she's gone. I miss her so much.

I'll never forget when I came to visit and made Sherri walk around her mom and dad's with me. She was huffin and puffin and having a fit, but she kept going. And also, she took me over to her house to jump on her trampoline. We both laughed so hard we almost wet our pants. She was alot of fun and a great cousin. I miss her so much.

Sherri was more than a sister in law. I would call her sissy just sissy.
She was fun to be around.
I would always ask her what was for dinner or lunch or breakfast. One evening I asked what was for dessert and she brought over some ice cream. It was great.
I went to her house to plant some roses for her. I told her to water them everyday for a little while to let them grow. I didn't think she would but she fooled me. They blossomed to beautiful yellow roses.
I will truly miss her. She will always have a special place for me in my heart.
She loved her family very much and we loved her back.
Thank you Sherri for accepting me as your bro.
You may now rest without pain.
We love and miss you.

This was my sister. My best friend. I will truly miss the part she has played in my life. I am so glad that I moved here to be close to her and the rest of the family so that we could become an even closer family. I will miss her greatly, especially the nightly phone calls. Not a day goes by that I don't catch myself saying "I need to call Sherri and tell her this", then I remember that she beat me to heaven. In pain no more but in my heart she will soar.
