Thomas Palumbo Obituary

Thomas J. Palumbo

Satellite Beach, FL

Thomas J Palumbo, of Satellite Beach and Marathon, Florida, died unexpectedly, at his home on Fanny Key, last week at the age of 74.

First and foremost, Tom is the beloved father of four sons: Thomas, John, Christopher and Brandon Palumbo. His love of travel and companionship, inspired him to experience all the world had to offer.

The devoted son of Thomas J. Sr. and Betty Palumbo, Tom was the first in the family to receive a college degree, at Fordham University in 1962.

Originally from the Bronx, Tom soon began a family and a successful company, MASCAR Realty Co., owning four realty offices in the tri-county area of N.Y. He moved to south Florida in 1980 with his then wife, Joan, and his oldest two sons, Thomas and John. His love of boating and business flourished in Fort Lauderdale, where he later re-married, Catherine, and had sons Christopher and Brandon. They settled in the Satellite Beach area, where his company, Islands International Realty Co., was born.

Tom was a valued and long standing member of the Board of Realtors of New York and Florida, The India Atlantic Rotary Club, the Eau Galle Yacht Club and the Marathon Yacht Club.

Tom has been preceded in death by his late wife, Marianne Moore, in 2010.

He is survived by his brother, Joseph Palumbo of Palm Bay and nephews Joseph and Michael; his sons; Thomas of Satellite Beach,  John of Coral Springs, Florida,  Christopher and Brandon of Sevierville, Tennessee,  and grandchildren, Zachary and Michael of Coral Springs, Florida.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March the 21st, from 2-5 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home, located at 1689 S Patrick Dr., Indian Harbor Bch, FL 32940 with a service to begin at 5pm.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tom and his family when I was caretaker of Fanny Key . Tom encouraged me to get my real estate license and was always very supportive. Good memories with Brandon and Christopher building and launching model rockets from Fanny Key. Very sad news. Condolences to the family

I knew Tom for about 30 years and enjoyed our time together in Rotary
and helping him with his insurance.
He will be greatly missed by all he
came in contact with.

I knew Tom very briefly regarding a real estate transaction we worked on together. He was so friendly and full of life and he loved his "Fanny Key" island off the coast of Marathon. He was far too young to be taken. He had so much more living to do. My sincere condolences go out to his family. He must have been an amazing Dad. He seemed like a great person full of love and compassion for people. Karen Evans, Boca Raton, FL.
