We are so sorry to hear of your loss, Dean Sparks was adored by his students at Edgewood. I was startled when my daughter (crystal bamber) called to say he had passed, Only a few hours earlier I had told my husband I needed to get in touch with Dean Sparks, Because our daughter graduates this week and wanted to get a pic of him for the slidshow of her life I am doing!
He use to call my daughter into his office first thing in the morning and when she would say "Hey, I have'ent done anything YET! He would always tell her, "I Know, but we both know you WILL before the day is over, So whatever you have planned today, DON"T!" LOL.
I Worked at Chili's and Would bring him lunch about twice a month, It was jokingly refered to as Mrs Bamber's Bribe!
I Hope it helps you to know, that he made a difference in this world. because of educators like Dean sparks, My daughter has chosen teaching as her career, She knows it will not make her wealthy, but she knows when her time comes, she will have made a difference in this world, just as your husband did.
He will be dearly missed by so very many people, and never forgotten.
Sincerly
Mrs Bamber

Joan, when Wayne and I would see each other at track meets and basketball games, he always brightened up my day with his humor and his special caring for others. He had some tough jobs with the school system and performed them in a manner that we were all proud of. I am lucky to have met and worked with a person like Wayne as are many others. I know you will miss him greatly, but be assured that he will be watching out for us and waiting to be reunited again.

Joan,
I'll never forget the stories of Wayne when he first went to "feed the fish" in Linesville, Pa.
Seeing thousands of those fish with ducks walking on their backs really impressed the heck out of Wayne.
He never stopped talkling about that.
So glad I got to see him just a few weeks ago and have Grammas chocolate chip cookies and a pepsi with him one last time.
What a super nice guy he was, he will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Joan,
I will never forget the night that we went caroling at your house. Wayne made Jacob feel so welcomed in your home by sitting next to him and talking to him. The image of the two of them sitting in your kitchen always brings a smile to my face.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Joan:
I rember you and Wayne fondly and with great respect. My Daughters Michelle and Mary Lois and my Son David all had great respect for Wayne from his days at Edgewood. May God give you peace and guide you in the difficult days that follow. Personally I believe there is no higher calling than to serve and lead our young children.

Some of the things I think about when I remember my friend Wayne: Teacher, Administrator, Coach, Dune Buggies, Fishing, Shrimping, Bowling, Golf, Orchids, Loving Husband, Loyal Friend. Wayne's sense of humor and his loyalty to all made Wayne a special person to many people. He touched the heart and souls of so many and will be truly missed by all that knew him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May the memories of Sparky live forever.

Mrs. Sparks -
I will never forget how kind both Mr. Sparks and you were to Emily and me when we went to Disney for the dinner. It was very thoughtful of Mr. Sparks to send Emily up with me, and I will cherish that memory always. He was a very kind person, and he will be missed.

Joan,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in that Wayne touched so many lives in such a positive way. His zest for life was an inspiration and his love for you was so apparent in the sparkle in his eyes and his ever present smile.
We were all blessed to have known him.

It was an honor to work with Wayne at Edgewood. I watched as he disciplined the unruly and encouraged all. Every decision he made, no matter how tough, was for the benifit and growth of the student. You could sense a genuine love and concern for everyone. He was a friend to students, staff, and me.
My thoughts and prayers are for his wife, whom he always honored in his conversations, and his family. Wayne, you have been, and will be missed for a long time.
