Violet Sullivan Obituary

VIOLET SULLIVAN MELBOURNE Violet Rose Sullivan, 83, of Melbourne, was born September 22, 1922 in Davison County, North Carolina and peacefully entered her eternal rest on Thursday March 16, 2006. Vi was a loving wife, devoted mother of four children, and dearly loved by her five sisters, three brothers, eleven grand children and four great-grand children. She was well known in the community for her role in the family business, Sullivans S&S Jewelers. She courageously had to overcome physical frailties stemming from rheu matic fever in her childhood and lived with rheumatoid arthritis. She taught her family the meaning of strength, faith and dignity in the way she lived her life. Never dwelling on herself, she was a com passionate, caring and truly loving person, an example to all who knew her. Violet is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph; her children Mike and Angie; sisters, Edith and Hilda; and a host of others. Two deceased sons, Joey and Doug are with her in heaven, as well as three brothers and three sisters. A gathering of friends and family and a viewing will be held between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., Monday, March 20th, to be held at the Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home, Melbourne. Graveside services will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens.

Dear Angie, Mike and Family,

I am truly sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I will always remember her as "Rose", and why someone else has the same name.

Although she is gone, just close your eyes and remember the times you spent together and the memories will always keep her near.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Angie and family: I am thinking about you all and will keep you in my prayers during this sad time. What an elegant and precious lady! Even when we were in high school your mom taught us all so much about being strong, being dedicated to family, and accepting what happens in life without feeling sorry for yourself. Her legacy will live on in you and Mike Angie. May God bless you with his peace - Much love, Tina and family

What a beautiful woman. I remember her always smiling, especially around Angie. How proud she was. What a comfort to know she suffers no longer and that we have another angel among us. Bless you Angie and Mike for being there for her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Linda Edwards (Collins)

Dear Angie and family, please know that you are in my prayers and thoughts. Your mom was always so nice to me and I remember her so fondly from our high school days. She made sure we had chewing gum in our mouth and that you had some money in your pocket. She was so strong during all her health struggles and admired so very much. I wish I could be with you on Monday. My love to all of you, Lisa
