Dear Billie and all my nephews and family,
I am so thankful for my brother and all that he has meant to me. What a loss for all of us. For me, he was the last connection to Dad and the early family life that I never knew because Dad died so young. I will miss our conversations and visits. I will miss his smile and his laugh. I will miss his stories... and he knew a lot of them. He knew about Grandpa and Grandma Tolley and all the hard growing up we had to do. He knew about Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes and so many who died before I was very old. He was my caretaker after Dad died and one of his stories was how he had to chase me down when I ran off. I guess I did that a lot.
I am thankful for these last years when we have had more opportunities to visit than in the past. We spent a week in Cody, Wyoming and he took us into Yellowstone. We visited in Tennessee, North Carolina and many times as he and Billie passed through our way on their way to somewhere else. And the special time we shared at Lake O the Ozarks when we met and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary together.
I am so thankful for my brother Bill. I shall miss him and remember him with great love and admiration. He brought joy and happiness and a love of life and family whenever he was in our midst. Now he is having a reunion with Mom and Dad, Kate and Bob someday I'll be there too.
God bless each of you and your wonderful families.

Im very sorry about this loss. This man, was my pastors father. I didnt know much about him, but to have a child such as pastor, he must be a great man. God bless your family, friends, and others that took loss to this death. But remember always, Be of good cheer for only his worldly body is dead, his spirit is still alive, and he has finally gotten to meet the king!

Uncle Bill was a man for all ages, a "real man" we need more of so desperately today. He had a reverence for life about him that was never suspect, because he was "real." He could give his opinion in any circumstance - "telling it like it is" - because he was "real." You always knew where you stood with him, and he always made you aware without ever having to verbalize it that you could count on him no matter what, because he was "real." He could be a friend to anyone of any age because he was "real." Uncle Bill was a man for all ages, no longer present in body, but always present in the hearts of everyone who knew him, because he was so very "real" to us while he was here. He is missed by all of my family, and we thank God for the powerful legacy he has given us!

To Aunt Billie and the Gang: I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Bill's passing. I have so many good memories of hanging out in Florida with all of ya'll. I think it was Dusty or Rusty climbing UP a palm tree that I remember so vividly because he was barefoot. I remember all the great stories that Uncle Bill told and I remember his terrific smile and wonderful humor. He always had a twinkle in his eye! He will be truely missed.

I am so privileged to have grown up a grandson of Bill Rhodes. He taught me so many valuable lessons just by saying,"Boy!", and shaking his head. He always stood for what was right, not what people wanted. I loved my grandfather, and I wish I would have spent more time around him - because he was so very wise, and always right. But he left us with the greatest grandma, and me with the greatest father in the world.Grandma- I Love You!

The Rhodes family has been a blessing to my family and me for many years as members of First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marc, and Pastor Jeff. You have truly honored your father and mother with your service and with your lives. It was a privilege to know Bill Rhodes, the father of such great men.
We can be thankful that Bill Rhodes was a believer in Christ Jesus and that we will see him again in heaven. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rhodes family during this time.

Mrs. Billie Rhodes, Pastor Rhodes, Bro. Jeff and the Rhodes Family...
You all are in our thoughts and our PRAYERS for strength, comfort, grace and that wonderful peace of God that the Bible says "passeth all understanding".
Mr. Rhodes was such a wonderful example in so many ways to all of us. I'm so thankful that he "gave" so much of himself throughout his life - to others and for others.
I saw Jesus in him. He will be missed here on earth until we meet again in Heaven someday.

Dear Billie, 'five' sons, and family. It is a great privilige to know you and Bill. Your marriage, family experiences and memories will continue to bless us for years to come. I cared for Bill after surgery once and he said, "I am asking God to grant me more years to enjoy my wife, children, grand and greatgrand's." I smile as I noticed God sent a few more babies, graduations & weddings. I smile as I picture Bill out "4 wheeling" just recently, with you! I smile as I recall you gallantly and bravely being a faithful wife and staying strong up to that last earthly hand-hold, knowing it was time to let him go ahead of you. I know God is saying 'Well done' to Bill and to you! A Great Man is William E. Rhodes! We ask God to comfort and confirm His Love to you.

A solid, strong, and reliable presence in our family, Uncle Bill was true to his name. William, "strong of will," a protector, a veteran who served his country, and operated businesses that served others all his life. A man you called when you had a problem that was beyond you. "William E. Rhodes and Sons" ...that wasn't just a name on a building once upon a time; these are the kind of men that work to keep the world from falling apart, whether mechanical, spiritual, or operational. A better legacy would be difficult to imagine.
Fortunately, Bill could tell a story, and had a wealth of experiences that made for great listening at family gatherings (for which I thank my incredibly patient Aunt Billie, who I'm sure heard all the stories many times). My other memories are of a man that preferred down-to-earth things that worked like they were supposed to, and who didn't have much interest in time spent in grief. You didn't "mope" around Bill without hearing about it.
So we don't need to mope today. Besides, I think there's a race this weekend, and racing was a big part of Bill's life. There is no room for moping in racing.
I'm proud to remember my father's big brother Bill, and I thank him for the example he provided to us of self-reliance, determination, good humor, and the confidence that comes from standing on principle. Preferably with a good set of wrenches.

Another graduation to heaven! Praise the Lord Bill was secure in his eternal destiny! I always enjoyed shaking his hand on the way to choir Sunday Mornings. I would say "Good Morning handsome!" and he would say I was a man who knew beauty when I saw it! We would have a good laugh and fellowship briefly. I will miss his smile, but I'll see him again! Too all the family, our prayers are with you, may you find comfort and peace in God's Word.

Dear Pastor Rhodes, Bro. Jeff and other members of the Rhodes family,
Bill Rhodes was a wonderful man. Christa and I only knew him for the past few years that we've been here. However, you don't have to know him for very long to see the legacy he has left behind. His character, work ethic, drive, determiniation, loyalty, encouragement, honesty, dependability, and so many other character traits could be seen in him and in the lives of his children and grandchildren. While we will all miss him, we will still see him through the lives that you live. May we all live a little more like Bill Rhodes everyday.
God bless you and provide you with comfort, strength, grace, and peace that you need at this time. We love you all and are praying for you.
