Clevert R. Akers, age 90, widower of Lina Boyd Akers, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 in Highland Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, KY. He was born March 18, 1925 in Dana, KY, a son of the late Emine P. and Cynthia Jarrell Akers. Clevert was a retired coal miner, self employed carpenter, and member of the Rock Fork Old Regular Baptist Church.
He is survived by one sister, Lettie (Ellis) Osborne, Prestonsburg, KY, two grandchildren, Rhonda (Jeff) Layne, Eddie Ray (Tina) Hall, four great grandchildren; Jamie and Jesse Layne, Brittany and Kayla Hall.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one son, Wills Ray Akers, two daughters, Audessa Sammons and Evelyn Akers Hall, and nine brothers; Elijah, Johnny, Benjamin, Thurman, Orbia, Calvin, Odis, Pearles and Claude Akers.
Funeral service for Cleveret R. Akers will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery, Dana, KY., and visitation after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
