Albert Baris Obituary

CLYDE - Albert (Al) J. Baris, 64, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2018 at Clifton Springs Nursing Home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Dorothea (Dottie) J. Baris. They shared 40 years of marriage together.

Friends may call on Monday (May 7, 2018) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 West Genesee St., Clyde, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (May 8 2018) at St. Joseph The Workers Parish, St. Johns Church, DeZeng St. Clyde, NY. Entombment to follow at St. Johns Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Clifton Springs Nursing Home Activities Department and National Multiple Sclerosis Society - MS Walk on May 20 2018 for "FLX Fighters" at https://goo.gl/MV7oAU

Mr. Baris was born on February 21 1954 in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Albert J. and Natalie L.Pucci Baris. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School, Bronx, NY before attending and graduating from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York, NY in 1974. After receiving his Funeral Directors License in 1975, he worked at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home, Bronx, N.Y. before moving to Clyde, N.Y. in 1981 where he owned and operated the Baris Funeral Home.

Al belonged to many organizations including the Clyde Lions Club, Clyde Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge, Ontario-Wayne-Yates County Funeral Directors Association, and many others. He enjoyed spending time on the water with his boat along with a passion for food. He will be remembered for his dedication to his profession and all the families he served.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie; his children Frank Baris, Karen Baris, and Natalie Baris; his grandson, Mitchell Archer; and one sister, Angela Baris.

Al is the only person I have ever met that had a guy for that to get things done. Peoples names fade away after they pass away, but I myself with never let that happen. Al was a true friend that I will carry with me forever. Thank you Al.
