Angeline Brockway Obituary

WATERLOO - Our beautiful mother, Angeline Catherine Brockway (Angie), passed away peacefully and was reunited with her husband, Lloyd, on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Geneva General Hospital with her family by her side. She would have been 96 in August.

At Angie's request there will be no public calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, Waterloo. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Angie requested memorial contributions be directed to either St. Mary's Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo, N.Y. 13165 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y. 13220-3049.

Angie was born in Waterloo on August 13, 1929, the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Zaccone) DiCicco. She was raised in a loving Italian household with nine siblings and loving parents. The story was that Mom was almost born in the bean field while her mother was picking beans, but they made it to the hospital just in time. She was a graduate of Waterloo schools and Culver Academy School of Dermatology and Hair Design. Her first job was an aide at the old Taylor Brown Hospital on Main Street in Waterloo. Then she worked for a short time at Zotos in Waterloo. Her first hairdressing job was working at Tessie's Beauty Shop in Waterloo. She then went to work for Brigg's Beauty Shop on Linden Street in Geneva and then Rodney's Beauty Shop in Seneca Falls until Sheila and David were born. Then for 30+ years Angie owned and operated, Angie's Beauty Salon in the basement of her home. She married her husband Lloyd on August 29, 1959. They were married 52 years. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and they loved to dance. Angie was a lifetime member of the Waterloo VFW Post 6433 Auxiliary.

Angie along with Lloyd was the family and babysitter while her grandchildren were young. We never had to worry and always knew that our children were well taken care of and loved. Angie loved to cook and no one ever left hungry because she always kept making you eat more. Angie always looked like a million bucks wherever she went. Her hair, long nails, and red lipstick complimented her beautiful smile.

Angie is survived by her daughter Sheila (Robert) VanKeuren; her son David (Tammy) Brockway; grandchildren Nicole Harris and Alex and Kristin Brockway; her brother Ronald (Linda) DiCicco; sisters Lena Jones and Barbara (Edward) Gilfus; brother-in-law Fred Brockway and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Angie is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and her brothers Jacob, Peppy (Carmella) DiCicco, and Sonny (Joan) and sisters Anna (Pat) Dunlea, Mary DiCicco, and Patricia DeWall and brother-in-law Louis Jones.

Thank you Mom for all the sacrifices you and Dad made for our family. Thank you for your unconditional love and kindness and for all your support you gave us. You never said no. We will miss you forever until we see you again. Rest in eternal peace.
