Arthur John Westfall

WATERLOO - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arthur John Westfall, 82, on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by his family.

There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held for the family.

Art was born on June 20, 1943 in Waterloo, the son of the late Earnest and Shirley (Rosa) Westfall. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School and worked for Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls and retired as foreman. Arthur enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, watching the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Art loved to travel with his wife Shirley and enjoyed playing taxi to all of his grandchildren; loved every minute of it. Art was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and gentle spirit. Arthur touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Art always had a warm smile, plenty of corny jokes, and a willingness to lend a hand. He made the world a brighter place.

Arthur is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 37 years, Shirley (Currens) Westfall. Art was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (Bourne) Westfall.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Joseph) Castiglione; grandchildren Matthew and Miranda (Mike Goyette), Tyler and Logan (Mike Burger) and Joey Castiglione; his son Tom (Kristi) Westfall; grandchildren McKenzie (Donnie VanScott), Schuyler (Nick Sgroi) and Carter Westfall; stepchildren Michelle (Paul) Moulton Sr., Wendy (Tony) Bohrer Sr. and Gary (Tanya Mercurio) McLaughlin; step grandchildren Andrea (Nicolas Brown), Melissa, and Paul Jr. (Brooke Baker) Moulton, Tony Jr. and Michael Bohrer, Andrew and Kaitlyn McLaughlin; brothers, Gary (Linda) and Bob (Beth) Westfall; great grandchildren Collin Brown, Ryder Moulton, Zane Bohrer; his beloved dog Charlie.

Besides his parents, Art was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Ernest Westfall, Jr.
