Barbara Combs Obituary
There will be no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Graveside burial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (January 18) in Port Gibson Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Clifton Springs United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association in Barbara's memory.
Barbara was born in Clifton Springs and was the daughter of the late Harmon R. and Nellie (Smith) Brown. Barbara was a graduate of Clifton Springs High School in 1951. She married Howard F. Combs of Port Gibson, on September 13, 1953. She started her 35 year career in banking at Lincoln Rochester and Trust Bank, completing her career with Chase Lincoln Bank. Barbara was a past member of the Women of the Moose in Palmyra. She loved gardening and many outdoor activities. Barbara was always willing, ready and able to help with anyone and anything.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 68 years, Howard; children, Beverly (Gary) Hawley of Phelps, and Wayne (Colleen) Combs of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Shelly (Rich) Koester of Clyde, Bradley (Abbey) Combs of Clifton Springs and Bryan (Chelsea) Combs of Macedon; cousins, Kurt Smith of Syracuse, Douglas Brown of Ithaca, and Dorothy Richardson of Canandaigua.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Marjorie (Brown) Newby.
Arrangements by the R.A. Patrick Funeral Home, Clifton Springs.

Barbara and I were best friends through school and beyond. Although we weren´t in contact for some time, I thought of her often. We shared many good times. Rest In Peace my friend.

It was an honor to of met Barbara and her family. Although I didn´t know Barbra to her fullest her smile could brighten anyones day. Your family touched my heart. Thinking of you Wayne and Beverly!!
