Chance Morgan Combs

Chance Morgan Combs, 31, entered eternal rest on January 31, 2026. Just hours later, his beloved little Snowflake, Korinna Alessandra Combs, arrived in the world during an unprecedented snow event which saw over 14 inches fall in Landis, North Carolina.

Chance was born on August 22, 1994, in Charlotte, North Carolina to his loving parents, Rodney and Tammy Rock Combs. Chance was the middle of three rambunctious boys who all shared the initials, "CMC." He was his brothers' keeper.

Chance's paternal grandparents are Rodney and Sue Combs of Fort Myers, Florida and maternal grandparents A. Rick and Sherri Rock of Clarksburg, WV.

Chance was taught from an early age the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his Lord and savior, by his mother and attended church with his family in North Carolina. He graduated in 2013 from Jesse C. Carson High School in China Grove, North Carolina.

Chance loved high fashion, technology, fast cars, motorcycles and the outdoors. He and his brothers Colby and Conor built trails through the woods behind their home where they would play for hours. They would construct forts and jumps, campsites and bonfires, always surrounded by animals. Loving, laughing, competing and more than one fistfight.

Chance was a natural athlete and highly competitive, traits that he inherited from both of his grandfathers and honed during countless hours in the backyard and in his boyhood neighborhood, King's Crossing. He was a quarterback, a point guard, a short stop and a pitcher. Some fond memories were playing in Cooperstown with his dad as his coach and bombing several 300-yard drives during a recent round of golf in North Carolina with his uncle, papaw and dad, a day that won't be soon forgotten.

Chance would visit his beloved home away from home, West Virginia, where he was like a son to his Uncle Tim Rock, Uncle Ricky and Aunt Stephanie Rock and a big brother to the apples of his eye and cousins Bella, Rylan and Branner Rock. He loved coming to West Virginia for two weeks at a time to visit with his family, play games, eat his Grandma Sherri's homemade pepperoni rolls and pizza, work out and enjoy the memories that we made.

Chance loved the beach and visiting his grandparents Rodney and Sue in Florida where he and his brothers would turn heads with their skim and boogie boards, doing tricks nobody else could do. He enjoyed one last wonderful vacation with twenty members of his extended family in Ocean Isle, North Carolina in the summer of 2025 that will be a cherished memory.

Rylan thought of Chance as his big brother and was so proud that he was the only one allowed to drive his car. Chance helped Rylan through difficult times and we are forever grateful.

Branner will always remember that Chance would never miss a holiday or birthday greeting, always one to text and call.

Chance was always protective of Bella who enjoyed having him around as he was one of her favorite big cousins growing up, along with Conor and Colby. She loved listening to him tell stories of their childhood when they were too young to recall or having Chance tell stories from he and his brothers' point of view, letting their presence live on through him.

Chance always enjoyed the latest fashion and was the center of attention with his Gucci clothes, sunglasses, braided hair, tattoos and fast cars. He did things his way, was good and will never be forgotten by those who loved him.

Chance was known to be very sweet and caring with a huge heart who loved to give. He loved to spoil his cousins and his dear nephews Zeke and Zane Combs. Chance was a wonderful cousin, nephew, brother, uncle, grandson and son. He had a love for animals that was as big as the Moon.

Chance was preceded in death by his two brothers Colby Matthew Combs and Conor Maxwell Combs and one cousin, Bailey Ryan Rock. Chance was very brokenhearted by the loss of his brothers and cousin. He honored them after they were gone. He tried so hard to be strongheaded, have willpower, love the Lord and to help himself overcome. They are all now reunited forever. If their parents' love could have saved them, they would have lived forever.

In addition to his parents, grandparents, and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins, Chance is survived by the mother of his daughter, Kassandra Heart, his little Snowflake Kora, his sister-in-law Nicole Lawson Combs, mother to Zeke and Zane. Special cousins Jackson, Martina and Mary Claire Howe who he loved like his blood cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, Chance will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, an Everloved.com fund has been established for his daughter Kora.

Rest in Peace with your brothers, we are now your keepers.
