Cody Robert Adkins, 22, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born March 5, 1999, in Washington, DC, son of Sam and Kathleen Adkins. Cody was a 2017 graduate of Jesse C. Carson High School in China Grove where he was a member of the football team. He was employed at The Smoke Pit in Salisbury before going to work at FESS Fire Equipment where he was currently employed. He enjoyed his truck so much and especially enjoyed attending truck meets. Cody and his girlfriend enjoyed hiking and would often take his dogs. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing; he and his friends would pond hop until they found the right fishing hole. Cody was a kind hearted, hard-working, loyal son, brother, boyfriend, soon-to-be father, grandson, and friend with a heart of gold and one hell of a smile. He lit up every room he entered. He was absolutely adorable. He was loved by his family and friends and always enjoyed a good time. He is survived by his parents, Sam and Kathleen Adkins of Salisbury; sister, Ashley Adkins of Salisbury; brother, Ryan Adkins of Salisbury; girlfriend, Blake Nash of Salisbury; his son who is due in January, Wesson Cody Adkins; paternal grandparents, Maxine and Lewis Adkins of Salisbury; and maternal grandparents, Linda and Bruce Ramsburg of Frederick, MD; great grandmother, Julia Hoff of Frederick MD; aunts and uncles, Patty Ramsburg of Dunkirk, MD, Amy and Bruce Ramsburg of Boca Raton, FL, Tracy and Lewis Jr of Hagerstown, MD; many cousins, great aunts and uncles and lots and lots of friends that he called family. The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, October 7, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 8, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Montgomery officiating.
