Patrick James "Pat" Cashel

Patrick James Cashel, 69, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born November 11, 1956 in Trenton, NJ. Pat served in the United States Army and was an accomplished welder. He was last employed with Gamewell Mechanical in Salisbury. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved spending time fishing, either on local lakes or at the beach. In the last couple of years, he volunteered at the Salisbury VA Medical Center, where he loved interacting with and helping Veterans.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Jane Bayshore Jenkins and Norman Baxter Jenkins; sister, Jeanie Postel; and brother, Michael Cashel.
Pat is survived by his brothers, Bill Jenkins (Tammy) and Brian Cashel; aunt, Mary Ellen Fransckiewich (John), nephews, Joseph Jenkins (Louanndra), Joshua Stirewalt, Caleb Stirewalt, Joseph Cashel, Justin Cashel and Joel Cashel; niece, Jillyn Cashel; many cousins, great nieces and nephews. Patrick is also survived by the last love of his life, his sweet cat, Minnie Pearl.

There will be a Celebration of Patrick's life held on February 1st, 2026 at the Rockwell Amvets, 427 Link St. Rockwell, NC 28138, from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W.G. Bill Hefner Salisbury VA Veterans Services, 1601 Brenner Ave. Salisbury, NC 28144.
