Joseph Garland Gragg died at Harris Hospice Charlotte NC December 15, 2025, he was 64.
He was born December 5, 1961 to James Billy "Bill" and Mildred Blankenship Gragg. Joe participated in sports, especially baseball from a young age. He also played football and basketball., at Corriher Lipe Junior High School, Landis, NC, South Rowan High School, China Grove, NC and Garder-Webb
College, Boiling Springs, where he focused on baseball.
After college Joe worked for the city of Landis for a few years, then worked for Royals garage for a number of years. He then felt a call to teach. He taught at Carson High School, South Rowan High School and for Brunswick County High School.
Throughout the years Joe coached league baseball and football at Carson. He also umpired and taught Drivers Ed.
Joe's life touched many while coaching and teaching Drivers Ed. He was a loving father, brother, Uncle and friend!
Joe leaves behind 2 sons, Zachery Joseph Gragg, (Heather) and Benjamin Richard Gragg, (Nicole); one grandson Tucker James Gragg; 2 sisters Billie Gragg Hutchison and Libby Gragg Byars; and 3 nephews. And special friend Nicole.
There will be a celebration of life, followed by a visitation at North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust St Kannapolis, NC on January 17th, 2026 at 2pm in the sanctuary followed by visitation in the Fellowship Hall.
