Dana M. Speegle

CROSBY, Texas/ ROMULUS, N.Y. - Dana M. Speegle, 47, of Crosby, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2021, surrounded by his family at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, Baytown, Texas.

There will be a Celebration of Dana's Life from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 12 at the Romulus Fire House. Food will be provided.

Dana was born May 23, 1973 in Waterloo, N.Y., son of Michael (deceased) and Linda Speegle. Dana's growing up years were spent in Denver, Colo., Landstuhl, West Germany and Romulus, N.Y. Dana was a 1992 graduate of Romulus High School. Shortly after graduation, Dana moved to Little Creek, Va. with his sister, Shawn, and then to Texas with a friend. He was known for his sense of humor and compassion.

Dana is survived by his mother, Linda L Waterman of Rochester, N.Y.; stepfather, Larry G. (Judy) Waterman of Claysville, Pa.; his sister, Shawn A Johnson of Rochester, N.Y.; Brandon (Mandy) Waterman of Johnsonburg, Pa.; aunts Melanie (Kevin) Arnold of Cortland, N.Y., Connie McDivitt of Evansville, Ind.; uncle, Gerald (Jeanie) Houseknecht of Evansville, Ind; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; family friend, Donna Smith of Crosby, Texas; and his best friend, Bill Benzing of Clarksville, Tenn. He will be missed by his co-workers and friends at the Walmart Store #522 in Crosby, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael B. Speegle; maternal grandparents Martje and Robert Houseknecht; paternal grandmother, Marie Layson; and one niece, Chelsea.
