The young David I knew was a true original. His enthusiasm for anything and everything set him apart, as did his knack for being good at so many of those things. And who else could walk around with that grin, the one that gave the unmistakable impression that he'd just gotten away with something really clever? (On occasion, this was not without good reason.) Maybe his real gift was making everyone feel like a friend, a trick he was able to pull off because it wasn't a trick at all -- he genuinely thought of himself as everyone's friend. We all might aspire to that, but for David it was just part of what made him who he was.
I'm not much for nostalgia and wishing I could go back in time. But if there were a way to be 17 again, maybe just for a little while, I'd go. Because going back, that would mean I'd get a chance to hang out again with my friend Dave.

I considered Dave to be a friend despite having not seen him in years. I never could manage to talk him into joining the Tennis team.
My sympathies go out to the Williams family. The Universe has lost something and will never be the same.

Wow, so sorry to hear of David's passing. He was my 7th grade science partner, and would always trick me with experiments. Being Ws, we were in homeroom together through school. And then I'd run into him at RIT. I thought of him recently as I drove by a golf facility where I believe he worked. With sympathy,

Wow, I am so sad to hear of David's passing. We were science partners in 7th grade, and I still remember him tricking me with experiments. Being Ws, we were also in homeroom together through school. And then we would run into each other at RIT. I thought of him recently when I drove by a golf facility where I believe he once worked. With sympathy,

My memories of David flood back to 6th grade in Mr. Smith's class. I believe your family had just moved to PY that year. I remember David's wide smile and style was similar to "Sonny Crocket" (which was very cool and hip for PY), he loved Sparky Anderson from the Tigers that year, and that I would walk down to the little league field to watch him play ball with my friends at night. My prayers and love are with your family at this time. He was a cherished "Class of 1990" classmate and friend. He will be sadly missed.
