Mrs. Doris V. Kelsey

CLYDE - Mrs. Doris V. Kelsey, 89, of 2986 Brand Road, died Saturday (Sept. 12, 2009) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital following a brief illness.
At her request, there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 1 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 20) at the Clyde United Methodist Church. The Rev. Barbara De Angelis will officiate.

Mrs. Kelsey was born April 10, 1920, in Solvay, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle Weiss Rauch. On Jan. 16, 1941, she married C. Charles Kelsey, and together they spent the past 68 years living in Clyde. Doris was formerly employed by the Clyde School District and by the Newark Developmental Center. She enjoyed helping on the family farm. She and husband spent the past 30 years wintering in Northport, Fla. She enjoyed going to the dog race track and to Biloxi, Miss., for riverboat gambling.
Surviving are her husband, C. Charles "Sam" Kelsey of Clyde; her daughter, Cheryl E. Heit of Farmington, N.M.; her sons, Carlton Kelsey of Clyde and Brian (Deborah Verdine) Kelsey of Clyde; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Margie (Bob) Maltby of Lakeland, Onondaga County; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; and by her two brothers, Floyd and Norbert Rauch.
