Dorla Bell Obituary
Friends may visit with her family Thursday (August 2) from 4 to 6 p.m. at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc, 197 South St, Auburn. Burial will take place Friday (August 3) at 11 a.m. at Fort Hill Cemetery, a memorial service will then follow at 12 p.m., at SS Peter & John Episcopal Church.
Donations in memory of Dorla Bell may be made to: St. Baldrick's Foundation, 1333 S. Mayflower Ave, Suite 400, Monrovia, CA 91016
Dorla was born in Jamica, N.Y. on March 22, 1949, the daughter of the late Roy H. and Agnes E. (MacCheyne) Shepherd. Dorla was a member of SS Peter & John Episcopal Church; she retired from the NYS Dept of Corrections, where she was employed for 23 years as a store clerk.
Dorla is survived by her best friend and husband of 31 years, Thomas "Joe" Bell; her sisters Lynn (Bruce) Rich and Beth (Ed) Redman; her brother, Ray H. Shepherd; five step-children; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorla was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Patricia Shepherd and her step-son.
