Edna Preston Obituary

SENECA FALLS - Edna Somerville Preston, 87, of Gravel Rd., died Sunday (December 12, 2010) at her residence.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebra­tion of Edna's Life will be held on Friday (June 10, 2011) at the Waterloo Memorial Post #6433 V.F.W., 29 Elisha St., Waterloo. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, at the convenience of the family.
If desired, contributions may be made to the Waterloo Memorial Post #6433 V.F.W. Auxiliary, 29 W. Elisha St., Waterloo, 13165 or Lifetime Care Hospice, 1120 S. Main St., Newark, 14513.
Edna was born on June 10, 1923 in Romulus, the daughter of the late E. Burn and Mamie Williams Somerville. She had resided in Seneca Falls for 29 years, moving from Waterloo where she had lived for 15 years. She was a retired Home Health Aide for Seneca County Health Department.
She is survived by three daughters: Elaine (Donald) Ritter of Seneca Falls, Karen (Thomas) Thomson of Savannah and Judy Jones of Seneca Falls; one son, Darrell Preston of Seneca Falls; 11 grandchildren: Tama Walker, Scott (Cherie) Walker, Craig (Charlene) Hooper and Kara Hooper, Robert and Thomas Jones, Jeffrey and Peter Granger, Thomas G. Thomson, Nicki VanDerMallie and Amy Thomson; great-grandchildren: Heather and Sara Walker, Gary Hooper, Skylynn Lara, Kierston Jones, Maggie and Sam Granger, Daniel and Matthew Granger, Thomas J. Thomson and Anthony Jones; two sisters: Roberta Hunting of Amherst, Mass. and Sarah Parker of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Janet Somerville of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased her first husband, Aldon Granger; by a son, Gordon Granger; one sister, Corabelle Thorp; and five brothers: Oren, Ercile, Elmer, John, and Lewis Somerville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home Inc., Seneca Falls.
