Eleanor J. McClellan

PHELPS - Eleanor J. McClellan, 78, died on Wednesday (June 22, 2016) at Geneva Living Center South.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday (June 24) at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday (June 25) at the funeral home with Rev. John Gagnier officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Eleanor was born on November 11, 1937, in Clifton Springs, N.Y., the daughter of the late William and Margaret Sheehan Keating. She was a member of the Phelps Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. After retiring she worked at the Halfway Haus for many years as a cook. Eleanor was a wonderful baker and people would love to get her baked goods during the holidays. Eleanor also enjoyed her trips with the girls to the casino. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Greg) Bliven of Phelps; J.T. (Heather Coffey) McClellan of Phelps; Jon (Staci) Benge of Florida; Helen (Jim) Bement of Newark; Bill Benge of Phelps; stepson, Scott (Michelle) McClellan of Farmington; grandchildren, Taylor Bliven, Jessica Benge, J.W. Bement, Kassandra Bement, Melanie Vasquez, Brittany Keeley and Joey Benge; mother-in-law, Doris Juzwick of California and sister-in-law, Angie Keating of Shortsville; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John McClellan Sr.; two brothers and one sister.
