Eric McGuane Obituary
The family will be present to receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (March 16) at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg.
Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date in Sampson Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
The family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Eric's memory to kindly consider the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030 or Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120.
Eric was born on December 27, 1959, a son to Paul and Anne (Fogarty) McGuane. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1984. Eric was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #277 for 30 years, working for more than 20 of those years at John C. Lowery, where he met lifelong friends. An avid sportsman, Eric enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, was a lifetime member of the Interlaken Sportsmen's Club, and was a bird taxidermist. Most of all, he was proud of being a family man who was devoted to his wife and children.
Eric is survived by his wife, Deborah McGuane; two children, Codie (LeAnn Alfonso) and Nicole McGuane; mother, Anne; siblings, Judy (Robert) Taylor, Paul "Skip" (Brenda) McGuane, and William (Helen) McGuane; beloved dog, Rambo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
