PHELPS- Eugene F. Killian, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (February 8, 2011).
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 11) at the Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 12) at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Central New York Affiliate, 5008 Brittonfield Pkwy., Suite 300, East Syracuse, 13057.
Gene was born in Rochester and was the son of Frank and Sandra (Kuta) Killian.
He was raised in Irondequoit. He and his family moved to Phelps in 1962. Gene graduated from Phelps High School in 1968. He received an Associates degree in electrical engineering from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1970. Gene went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1973, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. He was employed as a Real Property Analyst with the State of New York, Office of Real Property Services. Gene loved photography, golf, science and the great American automobile. He was a dedicated husband, and father and found great joy in his most recent role as the grandfather of three beautiful boys. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda (Coonrod) Killian; two children: Valoree (Mike) Pembroke and John (Amy) Killian; three grandchildren: Caleb, Colton and Connor; brother, Francis E. (Renna) Killian; and four nieces: Terra, Sara, Sydney and Alexandria.

Just found out about Gene on the 14th.He will be missed around here,he always was a loyal customer and friend to all of us @ Steele & Bell Auto. I have known the family since the early 70's. You never know how long we have in this world.Please let us know if we can help with anything. Tom & the boy's.....
