Florence Liberatore Obituary

PITTSFORD/VICTOR/SENECA FALLS - Florence ("Flo") Liberatore, 97, a longtime resident of Seneca Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Flo was born in Seneca Falls on November 24, 1927. She was a 1945 graduate of Mynderse Academy and worked as a secretary at Seneca Knitting Mill until she met the love of her life, Philip Liberatore from East Syracuse. They were married at St. Patrick's Church on October 18,1952, raised six children, and were united for over 70 years. She was extremely devoted to her family, celebrating every event including holidays, birthdays, graduations, sporting events, music concerts, and more. She offered unwavering support and encouragement, for which her family will be forever grateful.

Flo worked at Crayton Drugs in downtown Seneca Falls for many years and then worked as a store manager at Rook's Rexall Drugs. She was continually active in her community and had many close friends. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary, Mother's Circle, and the Elks Club. When she retired, she volunteered in many organizations including the Nicaragua mission through St. Patrick's Church. Flo and Phil spent winter months in Boynton Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed bocce ball, shuffleboard, and many community events.

Flo and Phil lived in Victor, New York, for ten years, beginning in 2012. Flo moved to Clark Meadows Assisted Living Facility in 2022 and then to Heather Heights Memory Care Unit in 2024. She had many close friendships at both facilities and everyone loved her, especially her warm smile.

Flo is survived by her son, Larry (Beth), daughters, Lori (Steve) Miller, Donna (Anthony) Iadarola, Joyce (Greg) D'Imperio, Ann (Dan) Cavallo, Mary (Pete) Ewanechko; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister Phyllis Connelley. Flo was predeceased by her husband, Philip, her twin infant daughters, sisters Madeline Maddalena, Rose DeMassi, and Louise Panthen, brothers Tony DeStefano, Frank DeStefano, and Peter DeStefano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Heather Heights Memory Care Unit, 160 W. Jefferson Road, Pittsford, N.Y., or St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, N.Y.

To the family of Flo
She was my Godmother and I remember how my mother Lois Widell would come over everyday after Christmas Day.
I will always remember her smile that would light up a room. Her gentle voice and kind nature.
Many blessings to your family
