Seneca Falls - Frederick W. Zink Jr., 63, of Gravel Road, Seneca Falls, N.Y., died Friday (May 2, 2014) at Clifton Springs Hospital, Clifton Springs, N.Y.
Family and friends may attend Fred's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (May 9) at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Auburn, N.Y., with Reverend Louis Vasile, Pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn, N.Y., at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to Finger Lakes Hematology and Oncology, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, N.Y. 14452 for the benefit of patients in need.

Fred was born in Auburn, N.Y., on December 13, 1950, the son of the late Frederick W. & Elizabeth May Zink Sr. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1978, coming from Auburn, N.Y. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. He was retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a Postal Clerk. He was a member of the American Modeling Association which is a radio control airplane organization. Fred enjoyed a collection of classic cars and the time he spent playing his guitar. He just loved to putter in his favorite place, his garage, which he built.
He is survived by: his wife, Diane Piraino Zink of Seneca Falls, whom he married on September 20, 1986; one daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Griffith of Ovid, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Moira, Iris, Gannon, Quinn, & Tegan Griffith; one sister, Susan (Carl) Tillapawgh of Carlisle, N.Y.; three brothers, Raymond (Denice) Zink of Cato, N.Y., James (Nancy) Zink of Angier, N.C., Paul Zink of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
