Howard Libbert Obituary


Lyons/Newark - Howard Nelson Libbert, 84, died Saturday (October 12 2013) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. No prior calling. Graveside funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (October 18, 2013) in the East Newark Cemetery, Vienna Street Newark. Memorial contributions, in his name, may be made to the Cardiac Rehab Unit of Newark-Wayne Commu nity Hospital, PO Box 571, Newark, New York 14513.
Howard was born July 29, 1929 in Newark, the son of the late Edward and Edith Ridley Libbert. After graduating from Newark High School in 1947, he join the U.S. Air Force, where he served the next twenty-six years, through the Korean Conflict and most of the Vietnam War, retiring as a Master Ser geant in 1974. He worked a short while at Fold-Pac and then for the next eighteen years worked at the Newark Developmen tal Center. Howard loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed spending his time at Cardio-Rehab room at Newark-Wayne where to him it was much more than the exercise, Howard found it his chance to utilize his sense of humor with others.
He is survived by his son Howard (Rebecca) of Nav arre, Fla.; two daughters, Beverly Libbert and Tina (Todd Nolte) Libbert, both of Newark; three grandchildren, Wayne and Monica Nolte and Nelson Libbert; a brother LaVerne Libbert of Newark; and a brother-in-law Jack Bethel.
Howard was predeceased by his wife Masue in 2007; and a sister Joyce Bethel.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HOWARDS PASSING. I ENJOYED WORKING WITH HIM AT THE DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER. AND WAS ALWAYS GLAD TO SEE HIM FROM TIME TO TIME IN WALMART. MAY GOD GRANT YOU PIECE AND CONFORT IN YOUR GREAT LOSS.
