Janet Norton Obituary

NEWARK – Janet E. Norton, 65, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday (June 15, 2016) at Rochester General Hospital.
Calling hours are Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday also at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, East Bethany.
Memorials may be made to Janet's family for distribution to her favorite charities.
She was born September 14, 1950 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harold
and Priscilla (Nichols) Norton. Janet loved life, lived it to its fullest and was enjoying her early retirement from the New York State Department of Developmental services, in Newark, where she worked for 32 years. Janet enjoyed fishing and travel, especially visiting her family and many friends. Janet loved her red Corvette and was a member of the Rochester Corvette Club & Western Kentucky Corvette Club. She was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She was always there for family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include two sisters, Jean A. (Robert J.) Hutchinson of Byron and Joanne R. Norton of East Bethany; a nephew, James Hutchinson of Auburn Hills, Michigan and a special friend, Joanne Fletcher and family of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Janet is predeceased by her beloved friend, Shirley Putzig.
