Janice Allen Obituary

GENEVA- Janice R. Allen, age 84, of Geneva passed away on Tuesday (November 28, 2017) at the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 3) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Dec.4) at 10:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church in Geneva. Rev. Dr. Deborah Lind-Schmitz will officiate with Pastor Preston Dinkel doing the Homily. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 435 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620.

Janice was born on December 11, 1932, in Geneva the daughter of the late Basil and Mae Pacil Rizzo. Janice was retired from working as an administrative assistant at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station. After retiring, she and Tom owned Allen's Used Merchandise.

Janice had an unshakeable faith in God and her savior, Jesus Christ. Janice was unassuming, with quiet strength. She put her family and others above herself and ministered at the Presbyterian Church through the prayer chain and SHERRV shop.

Janice filled journals with her thoughts, prayers and gratitude. She was an avid reader and loved to sit on her back porch watching birds and nature.

Janice remains beloved. Her gentle influence will be missed.

Janice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas R. Allen; daughters Kimarie (David) Miller of Geneva, Linda Allen of Geneva and Beth (Preston) Dinkel of Geneva; grandchildren Noel (Michael) Taylor and Lindsey (Joseph) Frascatore; great-granddaughter Liesel Frascatore; sister, Consetta (Randy) Norris of Geneva; several nieces and nephews.

Janice was predeceased by her parents and a grandson, Jeremiah Miller
